Big Ohio Book Con June 28th, 2025 and more updates.
Hello everyone! it’s been awhile since I have posted on my blog. If you haven’t noticed my website changed a tiny bit. I updated to squarespace 7.1 and it made my website wonky so I had to fix a few things. Bare with me until I get some pages fixed. It’s just some portfolio pages clicking into them that are off. Now to some life and fun activity updates!
3 years and 4 months into my job at American Greetings. It’s still going good! I still don’t hate my job at all [definitely not like I have at others in the past] and it’s been a nice of fresh air for sure. I’m of course always completely terrified if I will get laid off at some point though. I think that’s everyone right now though. I would be totally screwed if I did. I don’t think that would happen but it’s always a fear in the back of my mind. So many co-workers I work with have been there a long time already so I really do think I have a secure job where I am.
Anyway, June 28th, 2025, I went to the Big Ohio Book Con by Black Cat [Black Cat Books & Oddities] & Ohio Book Dragons in Medina, Ohio at the Medina County Fairgrounds Community Center with my Sister. It was amazing! I had a lot of fun looking at all the Authors and other vendor tables. I bought Cruel is the Light custom spray painted edges book by The Scripted Letter Co. It’s gorgeous! Check out the other books they have done on their website. Got a book from the Author - In The Shadows by L.B. August. 3 Keychains from The Geeky Boutique. The 3 Dragons from Fourth Wing, Totoro [From My Neighbor Totoro], and not pictured Haku and the Soot Sprites from Spirited Away. Bookmarks, business cards, and some stickers were all freebies. I couldn’t believe how crowded it was. I really hope they do another next year!
I will also be attending the Stars Hollow Festival [YES A GILMORE GIRLS THEMED FESTIVAL!] on Saturday, August 16th from 4:00-9:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 14 from 12:00-5:00 p.m. for the 2nd Annual Curiosities & Cryptids Festival presented by Black Cat Books & Oddities! Always so much fun things going on in Medina, OH in the Historic District Square.
In other news if you haven’t been up to date on my socials, I cancelled my 2025 Markets I had scheduled this year. As I financially couldn’t make any new products as I would like. Also with the new tariff situation I didn’t know how much it would be. It’s not forever but until I get some credit card debt down and other financial responsibilities taken care of I’ll only be able to really do print on demand items. You can still purchase some handmade and on hand products I have on my website shop. The print on demand items do have their own tab to open, where you can view just those. I don’t get a lot of profit from those of course as they take most of the percentage, but in the long run it helps. We have to support the small businesses when we can! It’s definitely a struggle out here right now. I know I should post and advertise more, but it’s tough.
Other than what I have said there really isn’t anything else going on. I work, come home, be a Mom, Eat, Sleep, repeat. lol. It’s very rare I get to go out on my own do things by myself.
